Services

We can offer everything from full packages to separate testing and verification services. In addition, Labatus customizes tests suitable for our clients and targeted markets. Our range of testing expertise covers areas such as:

System testing

System testing of software or hardware is testing conducted on a complete, integrated system to evaluate the system's compliance with its specified requirements. System testing seeks to detect defects both within the "inter-assemblages" and also within the system as a whole. System testing is an investigatory testing phase where also the behavior and even the believed expectations of the customer is tested. Selected system level tests in order to provide valuable status information before a purchase. Labatus has a library with more than 6000 test streams covering broadcast  scenarios from all around Europe. We have broad experience from our work with certification testing for two major CA vendors.

Acceptance testing

Acceptance testing allows customers to ensure that the system meets their business requirements. The acceptance test is the last opportunity customers have to make sure that the system is what they asked for. Before you begin the acceptance test, the team should know what criteria will be used to decide whether the system is acceptable or not.

The test environment is usually designed to be as identical as possible to the user's environment, including extremes of such.

Integration testing

Tests during integration of all or specific parts of a system. Labatus has developed an integration test kit that is used to ensure conformity of HAL implementations, porting layers for various third party middleware.

In Integration testing, program units are combined and tested as groups in multiple ways. The purpose of integration testing is to detect any inconsistencies between the software units that are integrated together or between any of the assemblages and the hardware. The test verifies functional, performance, and reliability requirements placed on major design items. Integration testing can expose problems with the interfaces among program components before trouble occurs in real-world program execution. There are two major ways of carrying out an integration test, called the bottom-up method and the top-down method. Bottom-up integration testing begins with unit testing, followed by tests of of progressively higher-level combinations of units called modules or builds. In top-down integration testing, the highest-level modules are tested first and progressively lower-level modules are tested after that.

EMC testing

Our high quality EMC lab, originally built by the telecom company Ericsson in 1998, has a maximum measuring distance of 5 meters. Immunity tests can be performed from 10kHz up to 4.2GHz and emission tests are performed from 9kHz to 18GHz. The EMC tests are performed according to EN 55013 and EN 55020 for broadcast products and EN 55022 and EN 55024 for IT products.

Environmental test

As a part of the complete product testing package we also offer vibration testing (to simulate transportation) and climate tests to verify the robustness of the product in heat, cold and high humidity.

Acoustic test

Many electronic products use hard disk drives and/or cooling fans. These components are examples where acoustic noise will be introduced into your customer's home.

Safety test

Safety according to the Low Voltage Directive is another area of high importance where Labatus offers competent reviews and tests for products intended for the European market.

Compliance test

We target broadcast receivers and IT products and are very familiar with test setups and details of these standards. [Pullout: We will support you throughout the process, help you modify the product and if necessary test again.] This minimizes the setup time and need for interpretation discussions. Naturally, we follow the development of new standards such as the CISPR 32 and CISPR 35. Eventually these will be combined in EMC testing of broadcast receivers and IT products.

Test management

Project management of overall test activities in a project. A possible extension is project management from a test perspective, a.k.a test driven projects.

Process development

Evaluation and/or development of test processes and test organization in a company and/or project.

Benchmarking

Labatus can help your company to finding out status of a product in relation to other similar alternatives available on the market.

Test automation

Automation of tests in order to use resources more efficiently.

Production testing

Verification/validation of a product during manufacturing.

Field testing

Test performed in a real end-user environment. Can be selected tests as complement to a system test but may also be more extensive and self-contained tests depending on situation.

Usability tests

Is your product easy to use and understand for a typical user?

Usability testing is a technique used to evaluate a product by testing it on users. The aim is to observe people using the product to discover errors and areas of improvement. Usability testing generally involves measuring how well test subjects respond in four areas: efficiency, accuracy, recall, and emotional response.

Manufacturing test

The test is set out to verify as much as possible about the proper functioning of the box in the shortest possible time. Manufacturing test is very quick checks of a limited number of parameters. The tests typically consist of rapid pass or fail inspections at designated points on a rapidly moving line.
